Epoxy terrazzo is one of the only flooring finishes that can last the life of a building. As sustainability becomes increasingly important, epoxy terrazzo can play a key part in creating environmentally responsible buildings. The terrazzo matrix can contain recycled glass, recycled plastic, recycled aluminum strip, and possibly other recycled aggregates. Evaluating a 40-50 year life cycle of terrazzo results in the lowest life cycle cost of any flooring finish, provides years of uninterrupted service resulting in minimum repair and replacement costs, and does not contribute to waste directed to landfills. Combining these benefits allows epoxy terrazzo to contribute to LEED Certification of buildings. The National Terrazzo & Mosaic Association (NTMA) conducted an extensive study, compiling statistics from its own membership, the Institutional Research Associates, U.S. Government Agencies, Sanitary Supply Organization and other agencies, to determine the average
