Description: The two most important features of Precision’s SL series Ships Ladders are ease of installation and no maintenance. The relative weight of these units compared to a steel unit makes it much easier to install, and its aluminum construction makes it virtually maintenance free. A Ships Ladder with walk-thru is an ideal solution for mezzanine and catwalk access. When accessing a roof deck from the interior of a building consider combining Precision Ladders’ Roof Hatch and Extend-A-Rail, ladder safety post. This gives architects, engineers and contractors the option of a complete roof access system from a single manufactured source. Another type of Ships Ladder configuration is a Crossover Ships Ladder, which can be a great option when climbing over conveyer lines, pipes, roof top air ducts, or when accessing a high roof from a lower roof over a parapet. Some important characteristics of these ladders are: o All components shall be aluminum alloy 6005-T5 o Fully welded construction is used throughout. The treads are both welded and fastened with stainless steel hardware for an over-engineered product. o Stringers are 5" x 2" x 3/16" aluminum channel o Treads are from the same extrusion used on our Super Simplex Disappearing Stairway, 5-3/16" x 1-1/4" x 1/8" extruded channel with deeply serrated surface to maximize traction. o Standard 30" clear width provides a 26” inside tread width. o Handrails are 1-1/2" diameter schedule 40 pipe (1.6” OD) o Mill finish aluminum o Available in pitches from 60 degrees to 75 degrees. Available as options: o Wider tread widths up to 48" maximum o Other finishes: power coat, anodized o Other tread materials: bar grating, checkered plate and Anti-Slip grit plate.
